1. Cranberries

They may be small in size, but these little red berries are packed with mighty essentials including Vitamin C, Vitamin E and fibre. As a result of their consumption, these remarkably low-fat cranberries prove remarkable benefits especially for women as they help to prevent urinary tract-infections thanks to their proanthocyanidins, which fight the linkage between certain bacteria and the walls of the urinary tract. Cranberries also assist in lowering blood pressure, enhancing the immune system and have been scientifically linked for their role in contributing to the prevention against certain types of cancer, specifically ovarian, breast, liver and prostate.

2. Pomegranate

Rich in phytochemical compounds and with high levels of flavonoids and polyphenols, pomegranate is your secret key to achieving greater heart health. It’s one of the most versatile fruits providing several intake options where you can either eat it as whole, sprinkle its seeds over your next salad or smoothie or blend them into a juice. For centuries this fruit was utilised by ancient societies in order to fight disease, and recently, it has been scientifically examined for this same potential where researchers have found it’s likely to contribute to reducing the growth of prostate cancer in males. And since it’s so high in antioxidants, just one glass of pomegranate juice will supply you with more antioxidants than green tea or red wine.

3. Goji Berries

First renowned through traditional Chinese medicine, Goji Berries, otherwise known as Chinese wolfberries, possess the highest concentration of protein in comparison to any other fruit, as they contain a massive amount of Vitamin C 500 times larger than that of oranges. These nutrient-dense berries prove a superior source of antioxidants, Vitamin C and fibre, and are fat-free and low in calories. Through such contents, Goji berries are known to naturally enhance the immune system, reduce fatigue, to assist in weight loss, help relieve lower back pain and to improve eyesight. And since they’re full of beta-carotene, they also work to encourage healthy skin.

4. Açaí Berries

Derived from Central and South America’s native açaí palm tree, these reddish-purple berries surely define the ‘super’ in superfruit. Açaí berries are crammed with vital dietary fibres, complex carbohydrates, essential fats, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, which our bodies particularly need but are unable to produce alone. In the grand battle of berries, Açaí are most foretold to take the medal for having the highest level of antioxidants and thus, have the power to prolong the effects of ageing more than any other fruit.
